- Are you convinced of the benefits that kids get from learning music but are tired of fighting with them over practicing an instrument that’s not as fun as the guitar?
- Are you frustrated with the quality of instruction that your child has gotten from another guitar teacher?
- Has your child wanted to learn guitar for a long time and they’re finally ready to start playing?
I understand how important it is for children to be engaged and have fun while learning music! I’m a former school teacher with a master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. With my teaching background, I’m also able to make sure that they are staying focused on the task at hand. Plus, I’m very patient and understanding of those who may take longer to pick up new concepts. The bottom line is that studying with me is not like the dull lessons your child has taken before or that you may remember from your childhood.
And your child will get to play the songs that they want to learn! I have several gigantic books with hundreds of songs to choose from that are perfect for kids of all ages! Younger kids typically learn music ranging from timeless childhood melodies (such as Mary Had a Little Lamb and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) and famous movies and TV shows (such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones). Teenagers typically learn music from their favorite current and classic rock bands as well as pop stars.
I have an organized step-by-step curriculum that will keep your child engaged, will challenge them, and allow them to develop appropriately. Most important, they will stay excited and they will have fun! As a former school teacher, I understand different learning styles and I am able to personalize and adapt material to fit the needs and interests of my students.
I also teach children guitar and music fundamentals which allow them to make progress as they have fun, regardless of their age and ability level. If your teen is planning on attending music school, I can help them prepare for auditions and get accepted.
And I offer way more than just guitar lessons. Kids and teens have the opportunity to meet other guitar students their age, participate in jam sessions, write their own music, and perform in a semi-annual recital!
